Hey there, I noticed your PC details are listed in your profile. Your performance varies a lot depending on the environment—50fps in open skies, 40 in wilderness, and 30 in cities. Since you're familiar with Arma 2, it's likely the issue lies with DayZ's optimization or the mod itself.

DayZ runs exceptionally well. The optimal choice is increasing your graphics settings since the ArmA engine depends more on your CPU at lower levels. Raising them distributes the workload effectively. However, achieving 30 frames per second in urban areas is still quite impressive.

It's essentially Arma II in general, with poor optimization. It doesn't depend on your computer. However, after spending some time adjusting it, you might notice improved performance.

in dayz since there's alot of gear etc in towns it bogs down machines. dayz SA is built more on the arma 3 system that likes fast ram, but you will still need to muck around in your settings to find a happy spot. for me I just play wasteland, seems to run better
