I possess the Far Cry 6 demo in my Epic Games collection after viewing it on the Epic Store, yet upon clicking it I’m presented only with choices to link my Ubi account or cancel, with the first option indicating I’m already linked and the second doing nothing but closing the window.

Ubisoft Connect must be installed, but wasn't this only available in February? Isn't the demo already provided? It's a free trial.

I attempted to log in to Ubi Connect, enable updates, and minimize it while trying to install the demo on Epic Game Store (its name there). It didn’t work.
I suspect Epic Game Store might have misworded it, possibly removing it from their store some time ago.
[EDITED]
Just rechecked and it is still labeled Free Trail on Epic Games, though I’m sure it was referred to as demo at one point.

I just verified it and the FC6 trial on Epic Store mostly uses the Ubisoft Connect service. Have you tried installing it from Ubisoft Connect?

I also checked the UC store page and tried using a link to the free trial on UC, which we discovered through searches. The link still functions but after logging in and entering your birthdate it displays FC6 at full price plus a $15 subscription to their service.

From this, it seems the Free Trial URL no longer leads anywhere meaningful on Ubi's site, and the FC6 offer isn't visible on Epic Game Store. This looks quite misleading and possibly suspicious.

In fact, seeing this makes me doubt the reliability of Epic Game Store or Ubi's websites compared to sites that sell cheap game keys.

It might come from the UBI side, though it remains in the free games list. However, you just paid a version inside, making the UBI store irrelevant. From Epic, it functions, but I mentioned earlier it requires the Ubisoft Connect app installed.

You're asking about the functionality of a feature that appears to only prompt for account links when clicked, yet it seems to assume accounts are already connected. You're also frustrated because the Cancel option in the popup makes the window disappear without solving the issue.

Yes, I read my post #3 once more. Could you clarify where the free trial was obtained from—Epic Games Store, Ubi Connect Store, or Ubi's Main store? Also, could you explain what you mean by "work" again? Did it function as a method to receive a free trial?

opened epic store, found farcry 6 free trial, confirmed purchase for $0, installed
its currently installed and linked with ubi account
right on epic you have to purchase game to add it to library, even if it costs nothing
