Most gateways lack this feature. You’ll usually find a QoS choice if available; otherwise, it’s likely a problem.

Avoid attempting. Enable it through your router settings.

You need to troubleshoot your router's connection to your gateway. Check settings, restart devices, and verify network cables. If issues persist, contact your ISP for support.

Without the specific details about your router, it's hard to provide an accurate answer. Also, refer to your router's manual.

You require QoS to ensure reliable performance, especially with slower connections such as DSL. It helps prioritize your data so important tasks get the bandwidth they need.

I require QoS because even with a solid internet connection, I still experience lag during games. This is mainly due to prioritization settings. Also, my router is available at the provided link.

You're aware the problem is probably due to the ISP and you have no control over it—it might be a peering issue, and fixing it isn't possible. With the recent rise in traffic, I expect congestion to intensify further.

Locate your router's guide here. Review sections 30 to 31. It’s also a good idea to upgrade your router’s firmware to the newest stable release (assuming it’s stable) to take advantage of improved settings. Details on this process are included in the manual. I don’t expect the device to offer exceptional QoS control since it’s a basic consumer model, but enabling it can still help. If performance doesn’t improve after you try it, consider switching to a more capable router. A premium model isn’t always required, but gaming-focused ones usually come with built-in enhancements. If your budget is limited, opt for a reliable used router that supports DD-WRT or Tomato 3rd-party firmware. This gives you more control over traffic management, even if it means some speed reduction compared to stock firmware.
