How do I remove a recovery drive.
How do I remove a recovery drive.
Hi, The other day I wanted to make a system image backup and mistook the backup feature for the "Create a system backup image". Therefor my external HDD is now a backup drive. Is there any way to remove the drive from the backup feature? Here's a screenshot. It's the Maxtor drive I would like removed. Thanks
Search for "diskpart.exe" and open the executable. In the Diskpart window, enter "list disk" to show all disks. Identify the one holding the recovery partition by entering its number. Use "select disk X" where X is the disk index. Run "list volume" to view partitions on that disk and spot the recovery partition. To check its type, run "list partition". Delete the partition by typing the volume number followed by "delete volume".
I believe I wasn’t quite clear. What I need is the disk removal option in the control panel so it doesn’t appear as a recovery drive at all. It’s under "Backup and Restore (Windows 7)". I’ve already deleted the partition, but my OCD is still bothering me.
It seems like you're describing a situation where something started creating a new backup, and now it's finished.
