How do I know where a file is when I have several screens?
I have two computer monitors connected to my home theater system. Recently, I ran HDMI cables from both TVs in my living room and bedroom to plug them into one of my computers. Everything works well right now, but moving things between the screens is a little annoying. Is there any software that shows all four screens at once so I can easily drag files around? Or maybe a way to copy everything on TV #1 and TV #2 onto a single screen? The brand says they don't let you do this with four displays; they only support three, so you have to split them into two groups. My setup is currently arranged as 2 by 2, which lets me move files up or down the page easily, but it's hard because I can't see the screens on my left side when they're in the background. If something opens up on TV #1, I have to go downstairs, turn on another TV, and then drag that file back up.
You need HDMI cables that support sound and something called ARC. Read the guide about how HDMI Audio Return Channel works so you know what it means when people talk about earc. Think about your audio needs along with your screen and other stuff like speakers, headsets, or sound bars attached to your display. A splitter just takes one input signal and sends the same picture and sound down two (or more) output paths. So every piece of equipment you connect will see the exact same image. Basically, if you want four separate screens, you need four completely different connections for both video and audio. Your motherboard has an Integrated Graphics Processor with 1 x DVI-D port...
There is an HDMI cable running from my PC to the TV. Even if the TV is off, it doesn't matter much to me. I'm asking anyone who knows any software that can show all four screens at once so I can easily move files between them. Or do we have a way to duplicate screens like 1 and 3 together with 2 and 4?
Cloning, mirroring. If you have four screens like two monitors and two TVs, you can open a window for each one and move it to the spot where you want it on your screen or TV. That lets you drag files back and forth between them easily. You don't need extra software. But if the TV isn't connected right now, you can still move that window to connect to either of your monitors. Just keep dragging things around from one window to the other. When you stop using a TV screen, minimize its windows so they take up less space. Are you used to opening "WIN" plus "P" to start PROJECT and use your PC screen only? Or do you want to Duplicate, Extend, or set it to Second Screen Only? What kind of computer board and graphics cards (GPU) do you have? What video ports are available for your setup? Is HDMI the right choice for connecting to monitors or TVs? Remember that HDMI is limited in range, usually around 50 feet. I think you might need two or three connections through your GPU, and probably two if your motherboard has integrated graphics. Right-clicking an empty spot on your desktop opens a window where you can pick which Control Panel option fits your computer's graphics card. Inside that panel, there are settings to set up and configure multiple monitors or displays. Here is a link about using multiple monitors in general and also mentions an app you might find useful (though I don't know the app specifically so I can't say more). https://windowsreport.com/clone-desktop-...-monitors/ There is another Dell link that talks about setting up multiple screens in Windows 7: https://www.dell.com/support/kbdoc/...d-...-windows-7 Also, for HP: https://support.hp.com/my-en/document/is...2906263-16 And there are splitters that let one video port send a signal to two screens.
