Both the existing device (in the laptop) and the new one (in the USBc case) refer to the same NVMe Gen3x4 M.2 2280 drive, identical in size and brand.
At first, I attempted a simple swap by connecting the internal drive into the USB case, but it failed.
EDIT: Perhaps running sysprep on my current system before swapping could help? (I'm worried about damaging my current setup)
