How can i install windows 10
Hello everyone, I hope all is well with you. I’m trying to figure out how to move the OS from an HDD to an SSD since I just got a new SSD and don’t have a USB drive with enough space. I also have an older laptop running Windows 10. Would it be possible to transfer the OS there? Thanks for your help!
Use a utility such as gparted to clone the drive. When the HDD listing exceeds the SSD size, reduce the partition first.
What portion of the 500GB storage are you currently utilizing? You might be able to reduce the partition size and then duplicate it.
180GB storage, just my operating system and a few small applications.
It might be simpler to start with a complete system reset before proceeding with cloning.
I would perform a fresh installation of Windows 10 on the SSD, format the HDD, and keep a second drive for your data. 1. Safely copy your files onto another storage device 2. Generate a Windows 10 USB installation using this link: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software.../windows10 3. Connect your SSD and HDD to the motherboard and power supply unit 4. Launch the Windows 10 media and erase all existing partitions 5. Set up Windows 10 on the SSD 6. Use the built-in disk management feature to format the hard drive 7. Move your files from the HDD to the SSD 8. Add your applications to the SSD for a pristine new setup.
Check Macrium Reflect on your computer. Numerous discussions on forums might offer guidance.
