I possess the model number F1704VAP-AS56. The keyboard is very hard to see. It's mentioned that holding down the Fn key and then pressing F4 or F7 can increase the backlight, though it doesn't seem to work. Edit: I didn't need to press the Fn key at all—just F7. There are three brightness levels, with the highest being a real improvement.

It would depend on whether the keys are configured for Hotkey or Function key mode. The correct combination seems to be F7 or Fn+F7. See pages 44 and 45 of the manual for details: https://dlcdnets.asus.com/pub/ASUS/...X1...el=F1704ZA

You're using Vivobook 17 (2024 model). For Vivobook 16, just pressing F7 works.

Additional details suggest Fn + F7 also functions.
If it doesn't work, take the laptop to a repair shop for diagnostics.
