Hi,
I own a Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 2GB OC edition that I recently overclocked. I only have the standard cooler for the GPU and a 120mm fan running at full speed on it. After some testing, I believe I’ve reached the maximum stable performance possible without adjusting the voltage and without any visible issues. The previous stats were:
Core Clock - 1000MHz
Memory Clock - 1200MHz
Temp @ load - 51°C
After OC:
Core Clock: 1180MHz
Memory Clock: 1400MHz
Temp @ load: 63.5°C
I’m curious about the results—are these good, bad or average? Should I consider further overclocking?

The voltage isn't fixed, you need to adjust the setting that controls the slider (especially in afterburner). With no additional voltage, +180MHz on clock and 200MHz on memory would be a reasonable choice.

When adjusting voltage, I used MSI Afterburner and chose "Unlock Voltage Control," but the slider remains stuck. I suspect it might be locked.

However, it appears that the situation is unchanged. Certain cards remain locked with no possibility of unlocking them. Perhaps updating the firmware could help, but it carries risks. Installing new firmware might brick the card, and the performance benefits would likely not justify the potential loss.

I saw someone mention they might be able to change the voltage using Sapphires own version of Afterburner, but haven't tried it yet. I might give it a shot tomorrow if I have the opportunity.

I recently used Trixx but couldn't change the voltage, which means it might be the final step in customizing this card.
