I enjoy Dead Space and Doom titles that resemble a first-person shooter. Others who share this taste have discovered similar games. What horror titles are popular among players?

outlast is amazing. also, have you trien amnesia; the dark desend? EDIT: just realised these games arn't really 'shoot first ask questions later' in a way that you have no way to shoot, and no way to fight back really. in both those games you are pretty much constantly on the run.

Sure, I'm happy to try those and thought about them when I shared this. I also wanted to know what you like best so you wouldn't feel confused.

This joke seems crude, but I'm not sure if it's meant to be funny or offensive.

Outlast isn't a great horror title. Have you tried The Evil Within? It feels a lot like Dead Space, and also reminiscent of REBig Grinead.

Outlast continues to bother me today because I got caught up in the announcement trailer. When the game arrived, it turned out to be just a bunch of horror tropes and most of it was cutscenes or non-playable sections. I suppose you can enjoy it if you like, but I never meant my opinion to be a fact. To be real, the third-person horror shooter was only around from 2004 with RE4 until DS2 came out in 2011.

I personally didn't really enjoy Outlast. Jump scares don't scare me, and the suspenseful scenes felt more annoying than thrilling. I did like Amnesia: The Dark Descent a lot, but it became less scary once I understood how to play it. You might want to give Anna a try. I still believe that is one of the most ignored horror titles on Steam.
