Home networking problems
Hi! You're trying to set up a home network with an old PC connected through a power line adapter, and you can access files on it from other devices over WiFi. However, when connecting via WiFi, you can't reach the storage PC. It seems the issue might be related to how the devices are linked—maybe they need a wired connection (Ethernet or power line) instead of just WiFi. Check if all systems are connected through the same network cable and see if using Ethernet resolves the problem. Let me know what you find!
In their standard setups, most home routers and gateways connect their switch ports and WLAN to a single network. If you’re not using separate subnets without routing tables, this issue should be avoided. Suggestions: Verify that every device is on the identical subnet (such as having LAN IPs with matching first three octets). All linked computers are part of a private network profile and have File & Printer Sharing enabled. All devices belong to the same workgroup.
