I recently changed my plan with Suddenlink Communications from a slower 200mbps/20mbps service to a faster 1000mbps/50mpbs connection. I currently use a TP-Link Archer AC1750 Smart WiFi Router and rent the modem from them. I'm trying to decide what's best for me. Should I upgrade my modem to their suggested model and keep renting? Or should I buy a new modem myself? If I do, which one would be suitable for my needs and compatible with my provider? My tech support said getting a 32x8 modem is required if I purchase one, but I'm not sure if that's accurate. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Consider purchasing a surfboard SB6183 or better. It covers all your needs and more. https://www.amazon.com/ARRIS-SURFboard-S...B016PE1X5K The savings from renting are recouped in roughly ten months.
I was considering purchasing it right away. I wanted to check what others thought. I discovered several similar modem brands. The one you mentioned is among them. What about a Netgear alternative? https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Gigabit-d...B01M981YYL Or an all-in-one option like this Arris? https://www.amazon.com/ARRIS-SURFboard-S...B01KW9T39C
