Hogwarts Legacy issues with ray tracing and DirectX, causing errors or crashes.
Hello everyone! After hours of trying to fix things, I think it’s time to reach out for advice. I recently built a new PC a few weeks ago, which has been working well until now. I’ve only played older games like Red Dead 2 and Metro Exodus. Recently, I downloaded Hogwarts Legacy and have been experiencing frequent crashes to the desktop. The error logs show DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED and DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG. These crashes mainly occur when entering or exiting cutscenes and conversations, though I’ve had one during actual gameplay. My system specs are: CPU – AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Mobo – B650 GAMING PLUS WIFI RAM – 2x 16GB G.Skill Flare EXPO X5 6000, GPU – NVIDIA RTX 4070 Founders Edition, PSU – Corsair RM850x, CPU cooler – Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE, OS – Windows 11 Pro 23H2. I’ve checked temperatures, disabled overlays, and cleaned the GPU driver. Steam, NVIDIA Experience, RTSS were all working. I tried several fixes: updated drivers, disabled EXPO, turned off RT, increased pagefile size, and ran TM5/MemTest. I also changed game settings to Ultra Preset with RT Ultra, DLSS at 1440p, and Frame-Gen enabled. My main guesses are: the game or PC version might be faulty, the GPU or RT cores could be problematic, or Saturn is in retrograde. Any suggestions?
5600x + 4070 Super founder edition. Same problem. Disabling the Resizable Bar in BIOS allows Ray Tracing but disables Frame Generation.
