his rx 470 pc restarts on furmark
my build details are i3 6100, rx 470 4g, msi b150 pro vh, 2x4gb ram, 260w power, stock clock 1255mhz 1100mhz. i was overclocked to 1400/1380 and experienced instability and restarts on furmark. eventually, i achieved a stable OC at 1350mhz 1175mhz with 15% power limit. testing furmark and pc still causes restarts even with stock settings. temperature stays below 80c. does this 0.075v really pose a risk to my gpu? i always use wattman and never other tools. this gpu is brand new, purchased about 1-2 months ago.
The memory stock frequency is 1750, I attempted to overclock it to 1900, 2000, and 2100, but it became unstable, causing artifacts and requiring restarts. I also tried 1380 and 1400 core clock without raising the voltage, just increasing the power limit; the benchmark was stable, so I believe the overclocking is safe. However, when I ran Furmark afterward, it caused a restart. Some people warned that overclocking the GPU without increasing voltage is risky due to insufficient power, while others cautioned about excessive heat or voltage. One person mentioned they were overclocking at stock settings and voltage, but I’m new to this and unsure if my previous unstable attempts damaged the GPU. Gaming at 1400 MHz was stable enough, but could it harm the GPU?
you are welcome
but i have one more question
i use windows 7, actually i was running furmark. now i’m trying to run gpu-z or hwinfo which requires admin rights. when i ask for permission it causes the screen to dim and then restarts. i think this is because the system restarts when it gets overwhelmed by graphics. i don’t think that should happen, since a good GPU shouldn’t restart even under stress from graphics issues.
but i’m not an expert, maybe there’s another reason for this happening
sorry for all the questions, but i just want to confirm if this unit is damaged or natural
