my brother recently purchased a z390-a pro from msi since his previous motherboard had faulty ram slots that prevented dual channel memory. now he wants a new board and checked his existing ram, but it wasn’t the issue then. after installing the new motherboard, i tried booting and it kept looping through two boot processes before idling. debug lights flashed briefly on the cpu and then on ram for a while. i reused one slot without success, then switched to my own system ram which also failed. i’m confused why his pc won’t start even though he connected the cpu and 24-pin connectors properly. i’ve tried turning off the psu to reset cmos, but since it’s a new board, i don’t know what to do. anyone have any ideas or advice?
What are the complete specifications for the system? Also, it's necessary to remove the CMOS battery or short the CMOS pins to reset the CMOS.
He has an i7-6700k processor, a recent motherboard, 1060 Ti and CX600M from Corsair, and 16GB of 3000MHz Corsair Vengeance DDR4 RAM.
