I used 9700K OCed to 5.2ghz and the voltage stayed under 65c on the Asus rog Z390F. That’s why 80c feels too high for me. But if it works, I’m fine.
VRM supports temperatures up to 100˚C, though performance drops after reaching 90˚C. At 80˚C everything runs smoothly. The situation also relies on your cooling setup and air movement inside the enclosure. Switching from an air cooler to an AIO without additional airflow won’t improve things. Similarly, replacing a side fan with a window that offers no ventilation isn’t helpful either.
