In certain titles such as Cyberpunk 2077 my processor operates near 88°C, while utilization stays around 25%. In other games it runs slightly lower, between 79-85°C. My idle readings hover between 60-65°C. During BIOS setup, my CPU reaches about 52°C after roughly half an hour. I recently replaced the cooler and followed all installation steps carefully—applied thermal paste, removed the plastic cover, ensured fans spun correctly. Temperatures dropped by just 2-3°C. Interestingly, after reinstalling Windows 10 about three days ago (details in the post history—yes, I fixed that problem too), I installed Riva Tuner and observed a spike to 91°C in Cyberpunk. I believe these readings weren’t possible before the Windows update, since I noticed high CPU usage only about two minutes after launching the game. Previously, my temps were likely in the 60s. Any suggestions? Could a Windows update have affected my system? Edit: I just saw in the hardware monitor that after booting, my CPU temperature jumped to 76°C in BIOS, whereas it only reached 50°C before. Also, my PC doesn’t get that intense heat during games, though I’ll verify that. In BIOS I set fans to run at full speed with a max temperature difference of 1-2°C. Edit 2: Is 79-85°C acceptable? I don’t want to risk damaging my CPU.

Adjust settings manually for better performance and locate a stable low V sweet spot. My 5900X runs at 4.55Ghz with 1.2V, no overheating issues. By default it was set higher than needed, causing excessive heat for even one core hitting 4.7Ghz.
