Curious about the temperature spikes on your old Core i5 2400 when running Memtest86. It stays around 97-99°C during tests but remains stable, while idle temps hover between 30-40°C. In your new setup, it drops to 40-50°C only when you start testing RAM. Questions: 1. Could the lack of thermal paste or improper case be the cause? 2. Is it safe to power on at such high temps? 3. How many passes should I run for accurate results with your 2x4GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM?
