Hello, I recently rebuilt my PC after a long break, but the temps and CPU fans kept running high all the time. I attempted to adjust the fan curves, but it still fluctuates between 50 and 70 degrees even when just browsing. The noise during gaming is especially bothersome. My system specs are: motherboard Asrock B450M, graphics RX 580, CPU R3 3300X, power supply CV 550, RAM HyperX 3200mhz, SSD Kingston 2000 NVMe, HDD WD Blue 1 TB.
Zen 2 is typical behavior. They increase two cores beyond their maximum under light workloads, which improves low-demand high-frequency activities such as background OS operations and web surfing. Still, 70°C feels excessive even for idle boosts and fan noise remains manageable. Do you have any heat paste? Consider taking the cooler out, wiping away old paste, applying fresh paste, and reapplying it securely. Additionally, I've observed that despite my CPU usage staying below 10%, the clock speed is fluctuating between 3.8 and 4.4 GHz every few seconds.
The temperatures are acceptable, but if the sound bothers you, consider a more effective cooler or adjust the fan settings for smoother performance.
The temperatures are acceptable for 3300x. All its cores operate at the same CCX and are tightly packed, which generates significant heat.
