This clearly shows speedtest.net isn't useful. Try changing your DNS settings and observe any improvement. If possible, test from servers in different regions (such as EU and NA) to compare your actual speed with the listed numbers. I can achieve 100 Mbps at another location, but when traffic leaves that country it drops significantly to around 50 Mbps.
I'm running 9.9.9.9 atm and the DNS results were consistent, even with the ISP default. For the speed test, I followed your advice and achieved 500/100.
Using multiple providers isn't typically recommended because consistency matters, and each may process location data or filter results differently. (Cloudflare doesn't, Google might not, but it's unclear if audits confirmed this.) This becomes more significant when combining unfiltered outputs (like Cloudflare) with filtered ones (such as Cloud9), especially since they already use the latter.
