Need advice on hardware choices. Has anyone tried stitching 8K 360 videos? From Insta360 Pro 2. Our current process takes about a day and a half. I’m wondering if the forum or someone experienced could point me in the right direction? So far, we’re using an Apple Pro laptop for editing, with the Insta360 Pro 2 camera. We’re using Insta360 Stitching software and then moving to Adobe Premiere. For processing, we have a dedicated GPU—either an RTX 2080 Ti (11GB) or RTX Titan (24GB). Processing is fast, but memory differs a lot. Our CPU is an AMD one—consumer or enthusiast level. I’ll discuss more about that later. For RAM, I’m leaning toward a high-end option: AMD Threadripper (TRX40 socket), around $2650 for 3960X. You’d need at least 4GB with 8 slots, possibly adding G.Skill Trident Z 64GB at 3200MHz if you go for 128GB. Alternatively, a Ryzen 9 3950X (AMD) could work—consumer or enthusiast level. I’ll check more details on that. Storage-wise, I’m considering NAS options like the Seagate IronWolf 10TB HDD for bulk data. It’s smart to avoid putting everything on one drive. A NAS setup could save thousands, maybe even $1000. For speed, a 500GB NVMe SSD (like Corsair Force Series MP600) would be great. If we need more, we can add multiple drives. I’m also thinking about a 1TB SSD for the drive and using Proxies or Clips efficiently. The main focus is on software: Premiere Pro should handle the 8K workflow. Let me know what others recommend in forums.
