High RAM usage in Borderlands 3
High RAM usage in Borderlands 3
I own an older setup with 32GB of DDR3 1600MHz RAM (available thanks to my parents' generous spare storage). I'm planning to upgrade to 16GB of DDR4 3600MHz memory and also replace the motherboard. However, my system shows 25-28GB usage. At one point it crashed because I ran out of RAM. I usually close background apps to prevent this, so it wasn't the cause. Now I'm curious—will 16GB be sufficient for Borderlands 3? Edit: Scanned for malware and found nothing. Edit2: Likely an update occurred, but even with only iCue and the game running, memory stayed around 15.9GB. Updated March 5, 2020 by CreativeName642
Hello, your system has 32GB storage with a typical usage of around 14GB during intense games. If you exceed that limit, performance may be affected.
When usage reaches 25-28GB, please share a screenshot of your Task Manager so we can identify the memory hogs. Windows typically uses no more than about 3GB of RAM when idle. Of course, with other apps running it can get much higher, possibly nearing 25GB.
