Hello, I just got the 5600X and have been experimenting with OC settings as described. I'm using PBO to enable Advanced PBO Limits, Motherboard PBO Scalar, Auto Curve Optimizer, and setting negative 20 across all cores. The boost clock override is at 200 MHz, thermal throttle limit is 95°C, and the max overclock is 200 MHz. On Cinebench r20 I achieved a single-core score of 622, which is higher than most online results but lower than some scores I've seen elsewhere. The multi-core score was 4496, which is below certain benchmarks. During testing, boost frequencies reached around 4650 MHz and 4625 MHz on multi-core, while single-core peaked at 4850 MHz. Performance stays under 75°C during benchmarking at 106W power draw. Full specs: Aorus Elite X570, 4x8GB, 3200MHz DDR4, 6800Xt.
It would depend entirely on the CPU. Since I wasn’t making progress with the motherboard settings, I loaded the CPU and recorded its maximum PPT TDC and EDC values. I noted them down and entered them into the BIOS. Then I set -30 on an all-core curve and used it. Heavy tasks like Linpack ran at 4650, while everything else stayed between 4750 and 4850. The same approach didn’t help with my 5900X.
