I have an X4 860k CPU on a Gigabyte F2A78M-HD2 board cooled by a Corsair H60 Hydro Liquid Cooler. I'm currently running at 4.4ghz using the default BIOS voltage settings, but changing it doesn't work and AMD Overdrive isn't enabled. I'm unsure if my motherboard temperatures are safe, especially the VRMs. I don’t have any software that can precisely monitor those temps for this setup. The CPU temperatures were recorded during an AIDA64 Extreme Stability test lasting 10 minutes.

You might need a fan above the VRMs on that board for boosting performance, though 4.4GHz could be close to the CPU's maximum. It’s unclear if overclocking is safe; CPU-Z should work well.
