High-performance 10700k processor at 360A power draw
Hello everyone, I'm running a 10700k and using an MSI MAG Series CORELIQUID 360R RGB CPU Liquid Cooler with full 5.1 cores. It gets over 100°C under load, so I'm looking for better cooling options or an AIO to bring my temps down. Any suggestions? Thanks. Pete Campbell
I purchased the most affordable POS Deepcool 360mm cooler. Used an i9 10850K for testing... 10C 20T OC. For reference... Think about what -100Mhz means in terms of FPS... It's a bit of a stretch, but it really matters... Just a couple of percent per 100Mhz, yet much less heat. Only around 2%. I plan to lower the voltage at the same clock speeds... Are you certain you're using your lowest stable voltage? If yes, you're well beyond the efficiency curves for your OC settings or Auto Voltages. Go back to 5.0Ghz and adjust voltages if needed at 5.1Ghz. My setup (10850K, 10900K -100Mhz, 5.2Ghz allcore) has a max voltage setting with Loadline calibration at level 3 on MSI boards. It will drop to 1.37V under load and keep 5.2Ghz in games, but it gets too hot for most AVX tasks like Premiere Pro or Cinebench. That's why I chose 5.1Ghz allcore 1.36v SET. With LLC, it falls to 1.32V under 5.1Ghz allcore (no AVX OFFSET), which is great for gaming at 360AIO, 80-90°C in Adobe Premiere (AVX) and 45-60°C during gaming. It will handle looped Cinebench around 90-95°C, but since I don't use it much, it's fine. For AVX in games like Battlefield 5, I haven't reached 90°C loads at 5.0Ghz. I set the Vcore to 1.31v SET, and LLC brings it down to 1.27v under 5.1Ghz allcore (AVX still active). It stays cool and quiet, reaching 80-85°C in Premiere (AVX) and much lower during gaming. Make sure the cooler makes good contact at 5.1 or try 5.0Ghz allcore and reduce 2% Corespeed from 5.1 but expect some temperature drop...
