High heat from the H100i RGB Elite while gaming at 13,600k
Received a ready-made build in Denmark featuring an Asus TUF B760M-Plus (DDR5), i5-13600K, H100i RGB 240mm, Crystal 465X RGB case. GPU is RTX 4070 and the PSU is Corsair CX750F 750W. Performance varies across games—New World temps range 75–95°C, peaking at 98°C. Cyberpunk 2077 runs smoother at 70–85°C in RT Ultra. Cinebench R23 scores around 21800; CPU stays between 95–100°C most of the time, with HWInfo64 noting thermal throttling. Company says this is normal under full load. Many online tests show lower temps with less efficient coolers, but others report 100°C readings too. Is this typical for the H100i or are other factors at play?
For just playing games that seems like a lot, it might be because they didn’t use the cooler properly. You could try taking it off, applying fresh thermal paste, and putting it back on. It could also be due to a cheap board that doesn’t match the 13,600k price tag, which might affect performance.
