High-frequency tuning at 8700K boosts performance significantly.
I kept using 1.344 even with my i7 8086ks. I started this video to boost performance. On my i7 8700k it reached 4.9ghz, while on the 8086ks it stayed solid at around 5.1ghz. The 8700k wasn’t great for overclocking, so it now serves as a productivity machine. I run Noctua nh-d15s with a Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 4—idle in the low 30s and game at 70s.
The 8700k only achieved stable 5GHz at 1.4V, which isn't ideal. You'll need to try different settings, as a standard chip should work at 1.35-1.375V for that frequency.

Its lottery, ive seen as low as 1.15v for 5GHz in forums, with proof.
I'm running at 5.0 1.32v and completely frustrated. It's a custom loop setup. The board includes an advanced auto-clock feature, which I'd adjust to around 5.17 at 1.51v. I think pushing the chip even further might help, but it doesn't seem to give me any real-world improvement.
