Hello, I've been browsing online for quite some time trying to improve my framerate in Grand Theft Auto V. I'm consistently hitting between 20 to 40 frames per second, regardless of the settings I adjust. Even when crossfire is turned off, I still manage a few extra frames here and there. My system specs are: Windows 10, CrossFire enabled, 2 AMD Radeon HD 7950 graphics, normal edition with XFX Pine Group, Intel i7 2600K, 8GB RAM, AMD Catalyst 15.11.1, MSO BIOS P67A-GD80 (MS-7672), serial number to be provided. Someone with a similar configuration but using an i7 2700K is achieving 70-80 FPS, and when I check Task Manager on a second screen during gameplay, it shows high usage—often 90-100%. Recently, running a benchmark with MSI KOMBUSTOR on the second screen revealed 260 FPS, utilizing about half of each GPU. Interestingly, during startup, the game appears in windowed mode consistently, and my GPU1 isn't being used while GPU2 is around 30%. This seems odd since I assumed GPU1 was the primary one. In fullscreen, GPU2 usage drops to about 30%. I noticed better performance in story mode with Performance settings enabled, reaching 40-50 FPS while driving and 80 when looking at the sky. In GTAV benchmarking, online results range from 25-37 FPS, dropping to 15-25 when driving fast, 40 FPS at walking speed, and 50-60 when observing the sky.

When running the game try going into task manager and click "go to details" and right click gta5 and set priority to high. I had similar problems in my pc and that fixed a lot of my problem If it does help a bit there is a way to make it permanently run at high priority automatically the link below provides simple instructions for that. https://www.reddit.com/r/GrandTheftAutoV..._priority/

Turn off MSAA, it causes major issues on old hardware in GTA. Disable advanced settings and update drivers.

You've tried this frequently, but the results haven't improved much. Recently, benchmarks showed 20-30 points, while using GPU2 at ~25-37% during rendering and GPU1 around 30-40%, with both staying near 50% at 266fps.

I don’t have anything... update drivers aim to reduce render distance. Make sure no malware or Bitminer is running on your PC, EDIT: turn off one card and test with just one. Crossfire

i covered all these steps before making any changes. When using two GPUs, I typically require about 5GB of VRAM, whereas with a single GPU and the same configuration I need around 2.5GB. I also ran Antimalwarebytes but it didn’t help much. After installing AMD Catalyst, the results were 15.5, 15.4, and 15.6 MB/s for UnifL (the community driver worked better than AMD), and 15.11, 15.11, and 15.7 MB/s respectively. I plan to lower the render distance, though I still feel it shouldn<|pad|> to be unnecessary since someone else with a similar setup (an i7 2700K) can achieve 70-90 FPS, but my processor is already overused—about 67-78% during gameplay, with GPUs only contributing 40%.

disregard the claims that GTA misrepresents memory, as running SLI or CrossFire doubles VRAM

I reduced the render distance, which added about 4 FPS. I plan to run everything at its minimum settings again to see if it makes a difference.

I also discovered this link: https://www.reddit.com/r/GTAVpc/comments...w_fps_fix/. Also, consider turning off Visync.

Check the location of "subprocess.exe" in your system path. If it's not found, it might be due to a missing or conflicting executable. Ensure your processor isn't overloaded by other processes, which could affect performance and FPS.
