Hello everyone!
Before I explain what’s going on, here are my specs:
I9-9900K
RTX 3080 STRIX OC 10 GB
16 GBs RAM 3600 HyperX
Z390 AORUS ELITE Motherboard
Power supply should be Cooler Master Gold 750 W (not entirely certain)
SSD Samsung Evo nvME 2.0 1TB
Sorry if my typing wasn’t perfect.
My issue is that in most of my games I don’t see the performance I expect. I have a LG 2K 144 Hz monitor, and people say my PC should handle everything at full speed even on 2K, with a minimum of 60 fps. I don’t really anticipate reaching 144 Fps in demanding titles like Red Dead 2, but I often struggle to hit even 60 Fps, even when lowering the graphics settings. GeForce Experience suggests “Everything Ultra,” yet I still can’t get there.
I’ve tried many solutions: using the Nvidia control panel, setting the system for high performance, reinstalling drivers, even reinstalling Windows—nothing has helped so far.
I take good care of my PC, but I feel like I’m missing something where I should be performing well.
The games I usually play are:
Red Dead Redemption 2
AC Valhalla
Cyberpunk
AC Origins
Valorant (which even at low settings I barely exceed 200 fps, but since I play competitively, I think I’m lacking performance)
In all these titles, my FPS was just over 60–70 on Ultra 2K resolution, while in Cyberpunk, Valhalla, and RDR2 I drop to 40–50, which I don’t usually see on my machine.
Thanks in advance, I hope you can help me understand what’s going on!

Check if your performance differs from this: Watch the video at the provided link. Try to match the games and settings closely and compare. For the initial troubleshooting, make sure to update the drivers.

Sure, just to clarify, your Nvidia drivers are already current, so you probably don’t need to update them. For the motherboard and processor, it’s best to check if there are any updates as well. You can handle those separately without affecting your graphics performance.

I question whether they would make any effort for your PC's performance, yet I would still update them.

Thank you. I hope others have ideas if they encounter my post. This matter has been bothersome for a while now.
