Hello, I'm assembling a budget-friendly build for your friend. The setup will be LGA 1155 with an Intel Core i5 3470 and a GTX 950. The main challenge is finding affordable LGA 1155 motherboards—currently around $60. You mentioned checking OEM options from Dell or Lenovo. Could anyone recommend the best value boards that meet your needs? Requirements include standard cooler mounts, compatibility with standard cases, ATX PSU, PCIe x16 slot, and at least four RAM slots. Thanks in advance!

Mini-ITX boards are popular in the UK, usually priced between £25 and £30. I’m thinking about purchasing one soon. The US market situation isn’t clear to me yet.

I considered that too, but it looks like any decent board costs around $45 here, and we’d be limited to just 2 RAM slots. We already have four 2GB sticks ready to use, and an 8GB (4GB each) package is still about $40 where I am. I value the response, and it seems likely this will be our path if we can’t find a better option.

I noticed a very affordable board listed from China for just $37. What are your thoughts on that?

These issues frequently arise in the UK. It's okay with the board. Be mindful of customs fees since they might originate from China.
