Recently my CPU temperatures fluctuate a lot when Turbo Boost is enabled. When idle, they jump from 75ºC to nearly 100ºC, but the average stays around 80ºC. The issue is that it doesn’t settle on a consistent number. I also see big changes in power usage even without any activity, which contributes to the heating. I considered underclocking but found it difficult. Any advice would be helpful?

Random question just to make sure basics are covered. Have you attempted a BIOS update? Might be a known issue that was resolved.

I don't use a CPU cooler; I rely on software and processing power.

The issue just began a few weeks back, so I wasn't sure it would work. I'm going to give it a shot now.

I'm not sure... I purchased a pre-built machine. But it probably doesn't matter if this case is involved. I've used the PC for more than two years without any issues. I also clean the computer occasionally to remove dust.

Absolutely, it counts. A low-quality cooler with possibly dried thermal paste could be the reason. You look more informed than me.

The temperature fluctuated significantly due to unstable power supply or cooling issues, causing inconsistent heat generation. This led to variations in performance without affecting the PC's overall operation.

Come on, man... You're asking for advice from folks who seem more experienced, but you're still confused. I'm trying to paint a clear picture of your setup and figure out what could be causing this problem. All the info you share is solid. If you really need help, don't act like you know it all. Have you noticed any changes in temperature at home? When was the last time you cleaned the system? Maybe a recent update or background process affected things, and you can remember what happened when the issues first appeared?

It doesn't really matter given the situation I described. However, the temperature has risen significantly. The highest recorded temperature this week was near 38°C. I cleaned my PC last week, but I haven't made any other changes to it.

Launch the Task Manager and check which processes are running in the background. Even if your computer says it's idle, hidden activities might be present. The utilization chart shouldn't display heavy usage if your system is truly idle. If the CPU cooler requires four push pins, press two diagonally opposite pins simultaneously to verify proper installation. Repeat this for the remaining two diagonally opposing pins.
