Hey, I'm seeing around 30 FPS at ultra settings on a 1280x1024 resolution in Battlefield 1. I think the issue might be a CPU bottleneck, while GPU usage seems minimal. Here are your specs: CPU - Intel Xeon X5450 at 3.00 GHz, Stock, 1280x1024, RAM - 6GB DDR2 800MHz, GPU - Sapphire R9 280X Tri-X OC with 3GB GDDR5, 384-bit, undervolted and underclocked, HDD - Samsung 1.5TB at 5400 RPM, PSU - Gigabyte P650B 650W, operating system - Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. I've attached the screenshot for reference.

It might be possible, though every CPU tends to limit GPU performance. This seems more like a minor bottleneck rather than a major issue. Adjusting settings could help.

the xeon is a high-performance server processor featuring numerous cores, though these cores operate at very low clock speeds. older games struggle to make use of such a large number of cores, which is why the 2-3 cores typically being utilized aren't sufficient. Edited March 21, 2021 by yeetus The original data was incorrect.

That's a significant bottleneck. It's a 4-core CPU built on a 45nm process, nearly 14 years old, and it's similar to an i7-2600. Upgrading seems necessary soon.

When the CPU is struggling, increasing GPU workload means pushing it to perform more tasks. Adjusting graphical details and resolution can help, though it won’t boost FPS much. The CPU bottleneck remains unless you reduce workload—like limiting NPCs or background processes. Try closing unnecessary programs to free up resources. As others mentioned, this isn’t a magic fix; the CPU isn’t powerful enough for gaming anymore. Consider upgrading to a media PC or office setup instead.

Hi guys I have an i7 9700k and rtx 3060 ti and my cpu utilization is around 85% or more in games and used to be around 45%. Gpu utilization is also low in one game but not others. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks
