I know it's a really old cpu, but it's still good. Would trying to unlock more than two cores on this thing be worth it? Also, could I even do it with this setup?
What's the pros and cons, and if you want to, can you show me how to unlock it? I know my way around the computer, but I never done this before.
Thank you.

In the advanced bios features there is an unlock cores option, just modify it.

I'm not sure about using your setup, but there are definitely no downsides to unlocking those cores. They should unlock and improve performance. You might want to check your BIOS for an option. I've noticed some ASUS boards with four switches for this purpose, while others have settings in the BIOS.

The bios typically contains a setting to unlock the cores, but not every CPU will do so, and even when it does, stability may only be maintained with the original settings. Note: after reviewing the information, it appears the motherboard does indeed include a core unlock feature in the bios.

Certainly, it's fine to move forward. Let me explain how you can do this.

Started up without issues. Appears as X4 B45. What further actions should be taken?

It should operate smoothly. Execute prime 95 for stability checks. I would employ cpuid hwmoniter to track temperatures.

Check if the unlocked 545 is significantly worse compared to a standard B45.
