Hi all, welcome! You've just bought an MSI Dominator Pro GT72 S Pro G 6QF Dragon 004.
Hello everyone, newcomers to overclocking, I recently bought an MSI Dominator Pro GT72 Pro G 6QF Dragon 004. I’m curious about two things: the RAM is 2666 Gs and it’s a 32 gigabyte DDR4 system. Is this possible? Will it stay at 2133 MHz or get capped? My motherboard is an MS 1783 (U3E1). Could this work, or will it be locked at 2133?
Secondly, I’m planning to overclock mainly the GPU using Afterburner, targeting 980 gigahertz on the GTX non-M. What’s a safe starting point—5 percent or 10 percent, around 27 hours, with the core defaulting to 540 hours, memory at 1750? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’ve noticed sometimes after installation, the card idles at 50°C during Dragon Gaming Center use. I suspect this is due to the extended BIOS settings and self-adjusting RipJaws until I revert to the default BIOS. I don’t want to touch the BIOS settings. Please let me know if you have any insights.
Have the same high-performance laptop in hand. The GT72S Dominator ProG 29th Anniversary is ready. CPU overclock is stable at 4Ghz without voltage adjustments, but I need advice on BIOS settings for Core Voltage since decimal values aren’t supported here—what’s considered a maximum of 1.215V for these 6820HK chips? GPU overclock with Afterburner is set to 200+ Core and 200+ Mem, also without voltage changes. I’d like to push it higher using mV adjustments. The core remains the main factor; memory performance doesn’t notice much difference during overclocking.
