Honestly, the game is getting more criticism than it deserves—maybe because it came from Ubisoft. It performed well and didn’t suffer the issues seen with Unity or the watchdogs. The physics are a bit off, with some strange car behavior, but it’s still an arcade-style title. I can forgive it for the map. Either way, it’s decent if you’re into a fun ride with some cool cars... and I can chat with the crew via Skype.

It's an arcade game. Not a sim. Go play Test Drive Unlimited if you want a sim lol. The Crew is an amazing game and soooooo much fun.

Test Drive unlimited 1 or 2 are not sims—they’re arcade titles too. The makers of those games also developed The Crew. Riding up and down is incredibly enjoyable; the gameplay is well-designed, letting you drive for hours without doing anything else. Some people managed to travel from NY to LA in just 45 minutes, and with a fast car on the highway it feels like a short trip. If not, it can easily become a long journey.

Test Drive Unlimited stands out as the superior choice. Ubisoft struggles with creating compelling racing titles.

If they could refine this story and reduce motion blur, it would stand out. Graphically, The Crew outperforms TDUs based on controls. While TDU was also arcade-style, The Crew’s driving feels ideal for extended journeys. They’re the same team—Eden Games ended after Atari shut them down, but the developers later built Ivory Towers, the studio behind this title.

We were discussing the first TDU 1, which is obviously superior to the TDU 2. It seems the Crew performs much better than TDU 2, and the Pagani Huyara sounds alike to the Zonda. The list feels limited and not very appealing.

I played TDU 1 quite often. It really changed my perspective, even though I was just driving around. I found out 100% of the roads and discovered that TDU 2 was a big turnoff because the game felt uncontrollable with the keyboard. It didn’t recognize my steering wheel, so I didn’t buy it. Now I’m trying it again—it seems intriguing, though the game feels a bit clunky. The crew has a weak story, and there aren’t many cars. But the exploration really captivated me. I can drive for hours without repeating the same spots. Both Huayra models use AMD V8s and double turbos with matching exhaust lengths, so they shouldn’t sound very different. Still, the car selection could be expanded.
