They focus on their games only to make a profit from them. For instance, why didn’t Steam or Origin face the same issues? Because they invested in protection measures and similar safeguards.

Occasionally they delete it, other times they leave it alone. EA attempted with my Mirror's Edge version, but I went to support and they restored it for me. Consider reaching out to support.

It's really disappointing when your key stops working. I found out it wasn't valid and ended up looking for cheaper options online. Sometimes things don't go as planned. I'm not sure about other countries, but the French UBI support seems unreliable—I made a ticket for my banned key but haven't heard back after almost three weeks. I'm not planning to keep trying because I doubt they'll reactivate it. Compared to Ubisoft, EA handled my issue better—they're quick and helpful.
