Hello, I'm here again. You mentioned getting a gaming PC and a Mac for Apple stuff. Do you have any affordable options—two machines, one Mac and one PC? Can a PC handle GTA V and CS:GO smoothly? Also, is there a Mac model that won't crash Final Cut Pro or Logic Pro? I use my Mac daily and the PC for gaming. You're wondering if a Mac Mini is a good choice?

Additionally, outside the main topic, I was considering an older Mac Pro from 2007 to 2010. Is it still functional and capable of upgrades today? The listings on eBay are quite affordable, making it a potentially worthwhile project. I’m planning to build my own Mac but not as a hacking device.

-You might consider building a hackintosh and running two operating systems side by side. It’s more challenging, but it could work for you.

The sole vintage Mac Pro capable of running the newest OSX version is the 5.1 model (2010 or newer), provided it features a Metal-compatible graphics card. Be aware that 4.1 models can be updated to appear as 5.1 if equipped with the right hardware. You can enhance these systems to higher performance levels, and several tutorials exist on optimizing their capabilities. At peak configuration—12 cores, 64GB RAM, a recent AMD graphics card, and an NVMe SSD for primary storage—they remain sufficiently fast for many tasks. However, certain constraints apply: PCIe slots are limited to 2.0, USB 3 is absent and must be added separately, Bluetooth supports version 2.x which restricts some features, and long-term support may be at risk if Apple decides to phase them out. If you proceed, expect significant costs for future upgrades and the possibility of your Mac being removed from support in upcoming OS releases. Consider watching online guides to understand the process and assess whether the investment aligns with your needs. Hackintosh setups have simplified, and resources like Snazzy Labs offer recent walkthroughs. This path also leaves more flexibility for repurposing components later.

I believe you might be confused about what I meant. Would you like to purchase two computers or just one? If you need a Mac, consider getting one with sufficient hard drive space and installing Windows via Bootcamp. This way, whenever you power on your computer, you can switch between MacOS and Windows, which is ideal for running games smoothly. My girlfriend and I tried Steam with Parallels Desktop 15 on a 5k Retina Mac, but it performed poorly. I recommend using Bootcamp instead. If you're thinking about buying two devices, are you planning a laptop or a desktop for Windows? Gaming laptops can be expensive, so you might want to look for a used machine with an NVIDIA graphics card. NVIDIA offers more customization options compared to AMD through its control panel, and you can achieve higher FPS with weaker cards by adjusting settings.
