Hey, is that gaming setup up to scratch?
Hey, is that gaming setup up to scratch?
not entirely true though . we know there is more to it than just this . VRM quality , pcie lanes distribution , bios updates etc - it all factors in . if one is getting top of the line gaming cpu why not get a latest and better quality motherboard as well . of course if the combo deal is too good to pass on than we can look past this and just get the best deal . but the original deal is not that great to be honest . also in the future AMD may say "well yeah ryzen 10900x (or whatever code name it will have) will be supported by AM5 but may only work properly (if at all) with B850 or X870 chipset , or they will be supported but there will be issues on older motherboards even after bios update etc. you never know - so $30 extra for the system that should last another 5 to 7 years is really nothing when you look at the big picture . people are spending hundreds of dollars on cpus and gpus so there is no point in saving 30 bucks really (this is not one of those budget builds where you need to count every penny) . this is a really good deal: AMD Ryzen 9 9900X, MSI X870E MAG Tomahawk WiFi, G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB DDR5-6000 Kit, Computer Build Bundle you get the great all around cpu (not just for gaming) and also the latest high quality motherboard and decent memory sticks as a bonus.
Gaming is okay with the 7800x3D, but if you want to get it at the store, you need to make sure the seller has an in-store bundle deal on a 9800x3D first. Online ads aren't always showing that specific thing.
Yes, the VRAM does matter, but what he picked is okay. Other things are just extra options you can add later if you need them. But for support in the future? That's all just a guess. They tried that with AMD and got way too many complaints so they stopped doing it. The combo you listed is fine as long as you live near Micro Center.
Is it true that upgrading from an i5-9400F to a 9900X will mess up my games? I'm curious about the difference between the CPU and the X3D version.
