I am trying to fix an old home computer that I want to use as a NAS for gaming servers. My computer is actually an old Dell Optiplex 7050 sitting outside in my house because of its power and heat issues with the main PC. There seems to be a problem between my two computers, but it started after I moved things around. When I first set up this server, I created a shared file so I could save files from both sides easily, and everything worked perfectly then. Later, when I moved my Minecraft game server off my main computer onto the old Dell, I only copied the world files to the new place. Now, I cannot connect to my Minecraft server on the old Dell even though it works fine if I play it from my main PC and with all my friends. After hours of trying different things, I can't get back to using that shared file anymore. Also, when I go to my network tab in Windows now, it says I cannot connect there either! Please help me solve this problem.

Make sure your firewall rules are set up correctly on the server. When you first started Minecraft, maybe you didn't pick both Public and Private permissions because of a glitch or bad choice. Click Start, then type Windows Firewall in the search box. Go to Windows Firewall and click Allow a program or feature through it. Click Change settings. If a User Account Control (UAC) popup shows up, say Yes or enter your password, then click OK. Fix any problems with JAVA, JAVAW, or Minecraft by allowing them on both private and public sides. If that still doesn't work, you can manually add the port using these steps: https://www.instructables.com/Add-MC-Ser...-Firewall/ The port number should be in the file named server.properties. I suggest opening it with notepad++.
