Hey, I'm having trouble playing games and need some advice.
I just bought a new computer setup, but something weird is happening. My monitor is a 42 inch LG OLED screen. The motherboard comes from ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Extreme. I'm using the AMD Ryzen 7000-series CPU (12900KS) and a Corsair Dominator RGB RAM stick that has 360mm thick. My computer is holding up well in games, but when I start a game it just shows a black screen or a frozen video player right away. The power supply is an ASUS Strix 1000W unit and my graphics card used to be a Gigabyte RTX 3090 Ti with 240mm cooling fans, but I swapped it out for another ROG 3090 Ti with the same type of fan. I have tried fixing everything possible: updating my BIOS settings on the motherboard, testing different GPU drivers (both the ones that came in the box and some new third-party ones), and even uninstalled Windows 11 to put in Windows 10 instead but nothing worked. I moved all my RAM sticks around a few times. The problem is right here: when I try to watch my video link on YouTube, it just freezes or shows a black screen. My temperatures are actually good though, they stay under 60 degrees Celsius and none of them are being overclocked beyond what the factory said. This has never happened before for me, even though I have built many other computers that run fine all the time. Please help me fix this right now!
It seems like your screen refresh rate isn't working right now. Could you tell me which cable you're using? Also, how many settings are in the game and what do you run, G or FreeSync?
You need to check that the display cable is certified and can handle the needed speed.
