I recently installed a program that came with an attachment containing a virus. It managed to bypass my antivirus protection. Now whenever I open Google Chrome, it always redirects me to Yahoo, and I can't use Google directly unless I visit the site myself. Repeated searches bring me back to Yahoo as well. Anyone know how to fix this issue? P.S. I don’t have a toolbar or extensions, and it seems my browser doesn’t crash on its own—it just goes to Yahoo instantly. The problem might be related to the virus, but my computer specs are good, so it’s not my fault. Thanks for your help!

Open the control panel and search for a suspicious program, or explore your browser settings. It’s really easy to delete such items

Earlier there was a problem and Malwarebytes didn't help, but reinstalling Chrome resolved it.

I've faced similar problems with certain viruses and adware. You should use ADW Cleaner, an antivirus, for a complete scan—either a paid version or a full one (like Bitdefender). This should resolve the issues; if not, there are other solutions available. Let me know if this didn't help. You might also try reinstalling your browser.

It seems your computer needs an upgrade.

I have an alternative script ready for you, malware bytes will notify me, and I'm happy to share it with you at Cookiecrumbles222.

In msconfig/startup check for relevant items and uncheck any that don't apply. Consider trying hijackthis afterward.
