Hey everyone, I am completely stuck here! I really need some help with this. I have a .INV file from my dentist. It's a 3D scan of my teeth (one specific one needs an implant). Basically, I have this file and can't open it. There is no software to download that works for me. I don't know what a .INV file at all. I probably need specialized dentistry software to get it working, but I still want something! Even if only a JPEG ends up being made from it, that would be great. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? Please help is so much appreciated and thank you in advance! I can also share the file with you if needed.

I think they are Invivo files....and are probably exclusive to Invivo. Here is a viewer I found. InVivoDental Viewer. Get the software safely and easily. Free-to-use application for Windows OS that allows you to open .inv files format. invivodentalviewer.software.informer.com I haven't tried it.

Hi Jay, Thanks for getting back to me. I found this page too, but if you try downloading it right now, you'll get an error like "page not found." That's why I can't test it. I did find a similar link on the same website though; the version there was slightly different and worked better. I just needed to enter my license number to install or activate it, so I couldn't finish getting it working right now.

It might feel tricky because that file type seems private. There could be very few, if any, free tools to open them.

Ask the dentist who made that file if they can give you a friendlier way to see things, like a picture (JPG) or a regular document (PDF). Say they need this thing just to talk to someone right now.
