Start OBS outside of a game while it's active, and attempting to watch without launching the game again will cause the stream to freeze with a black screen. Opening the game resolves this issue. Alternatively, check the settings for "game capture" to ensure it's pointing to the correct program for recording.
The planetside 2 engine is quite an annoyance. Many games will stop working when you attempt to stream with OBS. You'll need to adjust settings. Game Capture works best when the game runs in full screen. If you exit fullscreen using alt+tab, nothing gets captured. When the game isn't in full screen but a full window is open, use window capture instead.
