Here is a voltage level to push the processor faster during an overclocking attempt
I have an old CPU called an FX 8320, but I don't need a fancy new system for the games I play. I wanted to make my CPU run faster by overclocking it from 3.5GHz up to 3.8GHz, but in my BIOS settings, there is no way to change the voltage. The option just says "Auto" and appears greyed out, so I can't adjust anything myself. Is jumping from 3.5GHz to 3.8GHz enough to cause a big drop in voltage? Should it be okay if the temperatures get higher instead? My HWinfo tool shows my current voltage is at 3700MHz running on 1.4 volts.
300 MHz feels a bit slow, but if your computer has good airflow and I put in 1.5 volts, it should run fine. What kind of memory cards do you own?
