Here is a problem about how things grow in a garden.
I have a CPU with an i7 6700 HQ and I've been using xtu for about three months now, but suddenly xtu won't let me change undervolt or other settings. Please help! Here is the image link: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1R8FMGF...uNGFAk936R
The issue comes from newer BIOS versions that block manual voltage settings because of a security update from Intel. Your best option is to put in an old BIOS, reset all settings back to normal after installation, and check if this makes the voltage controls work again. This might or might not fix it.
Hi, I'm Draco and I want to help you today. The first thing I'd suggest is to reinstall the Intel XTU Extreme Utility app. If that solves the problem, then all's well. But there is another reason why your core voltage and other choices are turned off. The maker of your CPU/GPU/PC has turned those options off for you. This might be so you don't break things or mess up your system. Maybe you should talk to Intel and ask what they think about this situation.
You're correct, but one day back I could adjust the voltages and things worked fine... then suddenly they turned off!
Have you updated the app, changed your Windows, or touched any parts of your Intel system?
That's the issue. Newer BIOS chips are blocking your ability to change voltages because of a new security update from Intel. You have no choice but to install an old BIOS, and then reset it back to the factory settings. It might or might not let you control voltages again after that reset.
My BIOS got changed and that means I'm free now, thanks a lot!
