Hey everyone! I'm searching for a home router recommendation available in Australia. It should handle VPN client and server functions, route all traffic through a VPN, filter specific traffic like games, and support IP-based routing. I'd prefer a device with basic switch features but no modem or AP. Ubiquiti options like EdgeRouter or Security Gateway seem like good fits, possibly running OpenWRT. Let me know your thoughts!

Choose a reputable router offering those capabilities. Official support for DDWRT or openWRT typically means it’s compatible with affordable models priced around $250 in the US. The availability in Australia may vary.

You're considering going down the DDWRT/OpenWRT path using Ubiquiti's software. Regarding the cost, if it meets your needs, you won't be too worried about the price.

I'm not familiar with Ubiquiti software. I understand DDWRT is a strong option, but I haven't used or encountered their other products before.

I’ve faced a tough challenge. Setting up IPv6 with Comcast dual stacks required plenty of assistance, but the process offers many configuration choices.

I explored OpenWRT and found it quite appealing. I’m looking for something more intuitive, similar to Gi.Net’s setup. While I’m open to building my own GUI, I’d prefer using hardware that pairs well with the firmware. The router I used didn’t work smoothly with it.
