My sisters' Acer laptop has suffered several drops and damages over time, but it seems to have software issues. The video shown below occurs in about 90% of cases without a login option. Pressing restart or shutdown freezes the screen. Occasionally, after using the battery reset button with a pin under the machine, a blue screen appears. Most options require entering a password that my sister struggles to recall accurately. When she restarts and boots into that screen, it works for a short time. Previously, it functioned properly when connected via USB and booted Linux from the stick, but now it’s broken. This isn’t just a minor problem—it’s urgent because it’s her birthday and her dad is out of work. If they need to buy her a new laptop for school, it suggests she can’t afford gifts. if there isn't any important data on it, simplest fix i can think of is to just reinstall windows. i'm sure there is another way, but it only takes like an hour.
