[Help]Razer Blade Hackintosh
[Help]Razer Blade Hackintosh
I’m quite an Apple fan. My preferences lean toward their software and devices, so I’m considering the 15” MacBook Pro with the Intel Core i7-7700HQ, a Radeon Pro 560 4GB, and a 1TB SSD. I’m okay with using dongles. Yet, even as someone who likes simplicity, I must admit: the top GPU available in a MacBook right now isn’t impressive. It’s the Radeon Pro 560 4GB, an AMD chip. While I favor Nvidia models for better performance, the last time a MacBook featured an Nvidia card was back in 2014 with a GeForce GT 750M 2GB. That experience left a lasting impression.
I also have a strong affection for Razer products; their Razer Blade 2017 stands out. It’s a sleek, lightweight machine with solid hardware that could replace the MacBook Pro 15” in many ways: an Intel Core i7-7700HQ, 16GB of DDR4-2400 RAM (the current model has 16GB LPDDR3-2133), and a GeForce GTX 1060 6GB. I appreciate its display quality and prefer a graphics card that’s at least twice as powerful as the MacBook’s internal one.
My previous laptop failed, so I’m planning to hack it into something more capable. I’ll stick with macOS as my main OS, though I might use Windows for gaming occasionally. I’m new to hackintosh and have been reading guides, but some instructions suggest certain features won’t work—like WiFi, Bluetooth, dedicated GPU, multi-touch trackpad, and Thunderbolt hotplug. I’d like those functionalities to be fixed.
The Razer Blade 2017 offers a good balance: it’s thin, light, and has a display that works well. I want the trackpad to support multi-touch gestures, and I need the ability to toggle between integrated graphics and the dedicated GPU. I’m also interested in macOS features such as Thunderbolt hotplug, Chroma backlighting (though a white one would suffice), and touchscreen compatibility. If possible, I’d like to explore these options in macOS.
Thank you for your help!
