I own a main PC for gaming and personal use, and a laptop for working from home.
I need a method to switch between the two devices with a single button press, allowing me to easily connect my monitors, keyboard, and mouse between both without relying on the laptop.
My PC is linked to two monitors via DisplayPort cables from the GPU, while my keyboard and mouse are connected wirelessly through USB dongles.
The laptop has only one HDMI output port but also includes a USB-C port for video transmission.
I’m considering KVM switches and am having trouble finding one that fits this configuration. I’m unsure if any KVM can handle the single HDMI input from the laptop and connect it to the two DisplayPort outputs, or if I should use HDMI cables separately when switching devices.
I’m also uncertain about using the HDMI coming in and connecting extra HDMI cables only when the laptop is in use, then switching to the PC’s DisplayPort connections.
I’m seeking guidance on achieving this setup, keeping in mind that my work laptop lacks admin rights for installing such software—unless there’s a non-admin solution available.
Please clarify any points so I can understand better.
Thanks in advance!

You may wish to specify the make and models of your panels and laptop, so we can determine the appropriate ports required for the suggested KVM.
