I purchased the KH ports on my PC some time ago, but I've observed that games not compatible with Unreal 4 initially function well but later become slow. I'm puzzled as to why this happens despite the system using more power than usual when it should. The specs I found match an ASUS prebuilt unit from Best Buy a few years ago: a Core i5-6400 processor at 2.70GHz, 8 GB RAM, a GTX970 graphics card with 4GB memory, DDR4 8G storage, and an HDD of 1 TB.

Are you certain the issue lies with the game engine? Have you checked your temperatures during playback of other games that experience lag? Since Unreal Engine 4 functions properly, what are your temperatures when running those games? Have you attempted using DDU to reinstall GPU drivers?

Sorry for coming across as a bit awkward, but I'm unsure about tracking the temperatures. However, this is my first time dealing with this problem, especially since I mostly play older games. I thought it would be fine to try anyway because most of these are older titles.
And no, I'm not confident about it. I'm not very tech-savvy. This is why I opted for a prebuilt version.
